About the Event

Watercolour lends itself to loose and sketchy but equally, controlled approaches. When you let go of perfection and allow imperfection in, great things start to happen. Make watercolour your friend and learn how to work counter intuitively to make better paintings. In this workshop I will share with you the key skills for making expressive, imperfect, yet perfect looking paintings. There will be some short exercises after which I will conduct a full demonstration painting to illustrate how to let go of perfection. You will then have opportunity to create your own imperfect watercolour.

What to bring

Reference material to work from (usually a few photographs), watercolour paints including titanium white (tubes are best), watercolour paper, brushes, waterpot, palette, kitchen roll, masking tape, Water spray, 6B pencil, putty rubber. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch.
