About the Event
Whilst painting from photos presents you with a static image and consistent light, there are challenges and pitfalls that can make the painting side a painful process. In this workshop you will learn about composition and how to take photos for painting, as well as interpreting photo references to paint from. Included are tips and techniques for modification and creating a loose painting from a detailed source. The day will begin with ideas for arranging composition and taking relevant photos and will include an introduction to digital and physical modification before moving on to a full demonstration painting worked from a modified source photo. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to work from and interpret a painting from your own source photo.
