About the Event
In this workshop you will learn about value, which is how dark or how light a colour is. Understanding value is key to successful painting and will help you achieve any kind of atmosphere, from grey days to sun filled Mediterranean scenes. Learn how to make the values you require with a little knowledge and some simple tweaks. Included is an in depth explanation about the colours of the colour wheel, how they naturally have their own values, and how these can strongly influence your choices for mixing. The day will begin with some exercises to clarify values in colour mixing with methods for achieving the relevant strengths in your painting, as well as a full demonstration to show the theory in context. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to try out the theory in your own watercolour painting.
