About the Event

Paint better buildings with this workshop. Learn how to make buildings convincing through considered colour use, how to paint them loose yet still make them realistic, plus how to simplify and build up interesting textures. Included in the workshop will be a simple guide to considering perspective. I will conduct a demonstration painting, during which we will discuss the appropriate methods for painting better buildings. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to paint your own buildings with my help and advice throughout the afternoon.

Please bring a packed lunch and reference material to work from (usually a few photographs containing buildings), pencils grade B and 6B, putty rubber, watercolour paints (including permanent white gouache or opaque white watercolour), watercolour paper, brushes, waterpot, palette, kitchen roll, masking tape, Water spray. Complimentary tea and coffee is available throughout the day.
