About the Event
Successful watercolours are built on a successful foundation of shapes. Shapes give us scale, drama, contrast and focus and form the bedrock of every painting. Learn how to enhance your designs, how to look for shapes as part of a composition and how to consider shapes to simplify how you paint. If you are yearning to reduce the amount of detail in your paintings, this workshop will help you do just that. The day will start with theory and exercises focussing on shape as a strong part of design, followed by a full demonstration to illustrate how shape also influences the painting process. Afterwards you will be encouraged to use the information to paint your own simplified watercolour painting.
