BOLD AND PUNCHY WATERCOLOURS

In this workshop I will share how to prepare for a punchy watercolour by considering values, as well as making an important value plan to help guide you through the layering process. You will be introduced to combinations of neat paint and thin washes for obtaining beautiful contrasts that lead to bold and punchy watercolours. Includes some follow along exercises plus a full demonstration and discussion of techniques.

What to bring

Reference material to work from (usually a few photographs ideally containing strong contrasting light and shadow), watercolour paints (tubes are best for this), watercolour paper, brushes, waterpot, palette, kitchen roll, masking tape, Water spray, 6B pencil, putty rubber. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch.
