Fading Light At Bell House Moor

Fading Light At Bell House Moor

Anyone familiar with the book and drama The Gallows Pole will also know the story of the Cragg Vale Coiners, a gang of men in the 18th century who were heavily involved in counterfeiting money. Their remote house on the moors above Cragg Vale sits further up the track in this painting. The farm depicted here would have been around at that time.
