MAKING A FOCUS IN A PAINTING 2021
Time & Location
About the Event
Improve the design of your work with this day course as we explore how to make a focus in a landscape painting. We will look at techniques for working with a compositional beginning, considering aerial and linear perspective as well as using contrast and painting techniques to bring better attention to one part of your picture. I will discuss the methods that I use in my own paintings and share these with you in a demonstration. Afterwards I will offer help and assistance with your own paintings throughout the afternoon.
Please bring a packed lunch and reference material to work from (usually a few landscape photographs), pencils grade B and 6B, spare or scrap paper for design sketches, putty rubber, watercolour paints, watercolour paper, brushes, waterpot, palette, kitchen roll, masking tape, water spray. Complimentary tea and coffee is available throughout the day.
