In this course you will learn how to make your acrylic paintings exciting by connecting passages using a key colour. We will begin with an overview of acrylic paint and associated mediums, along with a discussion of the painting method that I have formulated over the years. The course will focus on the effectiveness of using a key colour ground and the importance of using matt medium to create layers of varying transparency.

Each day will begin with some theory work relating to using colour or working through layers of transparent and semi transparent paint, which will be followed up with a demonstration painting to put things into context. During the afternoon you will have the opportunity to put the information into practise, working on your own paintings with my guidance. The days will conclude with a second demonstration to consolidate the theory and help you recognise any areas you might have overlooked in your work.
